Weekend update

Happy Saturday! Today we are just hanging with no set plans. This morning, we headed over to the Charlotte Symphony Ampitheater for a free live concert of Raggs, a new PBS show about 4 colorful dogs that sing and dance. Cate has not seen the show before but said she wanted to go, after seeing it advertised on TV and in the paper. However, when we got there, before the concert even started, she started wimpering and crying saying she wanted to go home. But, once they came out on stage, she was still a bit uneasy but wanted to stay. I started dancing with her and she soon came out of her shell. We ran into some friends from church who also has an infant son and a daughter Cate's age. After the concert, we all grabbed Chick-fil-A together at the food court in the mall (right next to the concert). It's nice to have a flexible day to do spontaneous meals with friends!

Yesterday, we had the house sprayed for bugs so we had to stay out of the house for a couple of hours. So, I packed us a picnic lunch and we headed to the splash playground. From afar, Cate was eager to get into the water and splash around, but once we were closer, she shyed away from it. She played on the playground for awhile and then eventually entered the sprayground area, but only running around the periphery so as not to get directly sprayed! Last night we headed over to a new ice cream place and I got the BEST ice cream...ginger! It was so light and refreshing...it may be my new favorite.

Oh, I got my haircut on Thursday evening and I LOVE it. I went much shorter because I needed something easy to fix. It is hard to find time to shower with 2 now, much less fix my hair. Now, I feel like I have something easy so when I do want to fix it...it takes much less time!
I never can get it just like the stylist does but I took some pictures for you to see! Here are some of the latest.

My friend, Sarah, is quite crafty with the sewing machine. She made Cate this CUTE apron which is perfect for our pancake Saturday's in which she helps Jacob make pancakes. She made Drew a burp cloth, appliqued a "d" on a onsies and made a precious diaper cover as well. I wish I were more creative!
Okay, so here's my haircut! The picture doesn't do it justice, but it really is great (I'm not tooting my own horn, I just appreciate a good haircut which my stylist has a gift for). I feel like a new woman!
Cate and I at the Raggs concert! You can see how far away we had to sit!!!

Have a great weekend!
