The surgery

Cate had her surgery to correct her trigger thumbs yesterday! Everything went very smoothly at the orthopedic hospital and she was able to have her surgery moved up so there wasn't a lot of waiting around and getting nervous! She had a little trouble coming out of the anesthesia, which they say is to be expected. Once we brought her home, she was pretty drowsy and nauseated. Thankfully, that did not last long. My mid-afternoon she was eating cheese toast and applesauce and acting as if nothing had happened.

She'll have to wear these splints for 10 days which has proven to be less limiting than I initially thought! YEAH. But, she is already ready for them to come off. Plus, she can't do any "strenuous" activity until we see the MD again on Aug 6th.

She's enjoying the special treatment. She got to watch more TV yesterday then she ever has in her life, I think, so now she thinks she gets to do that every day! Plus, she got some "prizes" for being so brave. But, she deserved it because she was SO brave! We're thankful God brought her through the surgery and is healing her so quickly.
